Scanstrut Scanpod Range is Officially Launched

With stock now on the shelves and the first pods being installed, Scanstrut has introduced the complete range of new instrument pods.

Taking customers comments on board, they have developed a range of products which will install your marine electronics in both an aesthetic and most importantly, a functional way.

HELM POD

Introducing the most compact watertight installation for your marine electronics.

With options to fit displays and standard nav. instruments, the Helm Pod is available in two high gloss colours, modern silver or traditional white. The choice is yours!

FLEX- MOUNT SYSTEM

Another unique solution from Scanstrut, the Flex-Mount system gives you more options for installing your electronics.

Do you have a twin helm yacht? Are you mounting on a low rail? Simply clamp the rail onto your existing structure and install the Helm Pod as normal. Then tilt or rotate as you require for improved instrument viewing.

MAST POD

The Mast Pod range comes in a variety of shapes, sizes and finishes so you can install standard or larger 20/20 maxi style instruments at the mast for a clear view.

Continuing with our commitment to offering materials innovation, our 'off-the-shelf ' Carbon Mast Pod will also be available to pre-order from July 2009.

DECK POD

The ingenious Deck Pod solves the problem of finding a level mounting surface on your power or sail boat.

Offering a one-handed quick release mechanism, simply release the lever, swivel and tilt to alter the angle of your screen, then fasten again - as simple as that!

Digital Marine - We Teach and Calibrate Marine Electronics

Digital Marine a new Sydney based company has launched a service to assist boat-owners in getting to know their onboard systems better, with group or one on one onboard tuition and calibration of vessel systems.
Principal of the business Stuart Graham has been in the marine electronics field for many years and believes there are plenty of owners who would love to understand their expensive electronics packages better. “Having sold the leading brands of electronics, I often come across owners thirsty for knowledge about their electronic systems onboard their boats.”

Digital Marine runs tuition for owners and skippers starting with the basics of coastal navigation using a paper chart. From there the tuition covers the layout and components within the navigation system onboard each particular boat and their operation in isolation. The final piece of the puzzle is operating the system as a whole using all the various technologies together. New advances in technology are also covered during the course so that owners have a clearer understanding of the ever changing marine electronics field.

The aims of the course are to make people feel more relaxed about pushing buttons on their systems, leading to more enjoyable and safer boating.

Digital Marine also offer calibration of systems for power and sail boats. This can have some great benefits in terms of fuel consumption for power boats when under autopilot, or faster passage making in cruising yachts to better results on the race track for the racing sailor.
